Position:        Junior Print Designer

Reports to:     Head of Design

Duration:      Full Time

Hours:         5 Days a Week (but with some flexibility)

Location:       Head Office – Shepherd’s Bush

Position description:

WYSE London is going through a phase of growth and is looking for the best talent to join the exciting journey.

We are looking for an enthusiastic print designer to support the growing design team with all aspects of print design and organisational duties across the department. This job would suit a print designer with a minimum of 2-3 years industry experience looking for an environment which offers an opportunity to grow within a high paced creative team.  You will have ambitious aspirations of becoming a fully-fledged print designer, who would like to own and lead the department and will equally appreciate and respect the knowledge and exposure you will gain by being part of a growing design team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Design prints and embroidery artworks, under the direction of the Head of design

  • To generate print directions, themes and trends

  • Contribute towards mood, trend and colour boards in collaboration with the rest of the design team.

  • Ability to rework vintage prints into commercial artworks

  • Ability to generate repeats, do scales and placement artworks

  • Ability to hand-draw and have a flare for vintage prints.

  • To have a great sense for colour and be able to recolour artworks

  • Follow the creative direction and requirements set out by the Founder of the brand alongside the Head of Design

  • Liaise with factories and suppliers, ensuring smooth relationships

  • Responsible for archiving and filing prints, colours and fabric libraries

  • Updating range boards and range overviews

  • CAD skills for colouring-up sketches and placing prints on garment shapes

  • Own colour chart and lab-dip organisation

  • Any duties required to support the design team in meeting their deadlines

  • Highly organised with a positive can-do attitude

Knowledge / Skills:

  • A degree in printed textiles

  • Strong team player who can work across multiple product areas and to tight deadlines

  • Strong work ethic, integrity and reliability with a hands-on attitude

  • Broad industry and competitor awareness

  • A love of colour and print with an eye on new and emerging trends and brands 

  • Knowledge of garment construction would be a bonus

  • Excellent Photoshop & Illustrator skills

  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
